Privacy Policy
Last updated 2026-08-19
This policy explains what Syniq ("we", "us") collects when you use syniq.co and our chat assistant, why we collect it, and what choices you have.
1. Information we collect
Account information. Your email address and authentication details, managed via Supabase Auth.
Conversation content. The questions you ask, the answers you receive, and any files you upload (PDFs, text files, L5X exports, images) so we can retrieve relevant context and generate a response.
Feedback. Thumbs up/down ratings and any reason or comment you attach to a response.
Equipment data (optional). If you connect a site agent, the PLC tag readings it sends us (values, timestamps, register addresses) and basic connection metadata (when it last checked in).
Billing information. Handled directly by Stripe — we receive your subscription status and plan, never your card number.
Usage data. Basic technical logs (timestamps, error rates) used to operate and debug the service.
2. How we use it
- To operate the chat assistant — retrieving relevant documentation and generating answers.
- To enforce plan limits (e.g. daily message caps) and manage billing.
- To improve answer quality, using feedback you explicitly submit.
- To detect abuse and keep the service secure.
- To contact you about your account, service changes, or (only if you opt in) product updates.
3. Who we share it with
We don't sell your data. We share it only with the infrastructure providers needed to run the service:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and storage.
- OpenRouter / Anthropic — processes your questions to generate answers.
- Groq — processes images you upload for ladder-logic extraction.
- InfluxDB Cloud — stores time-series equipment data from a connected site agent.
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Railway and Vercel — application hosting.
Each of these processes data on our behalf under their own terms; we don't control what they do beyond the service they provide to us.
4. Data retention
- Conversations and messages are kept until you delete the conversation, or your account.
- Files uploaded to a conversation are automatically expired after 7 days, or immediately if you delete the conversation.
- Site agent tokens and their readings are kept until you revoke the token or delete the connected device.
5. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can delete conversations and uploaded files yourself from within the app at any time. For account deletion or any other request, email hello@syniq.co.
6. Children
Syniq is a professional tool for automation engineers and is not directed at, or knowingly used by, children.
7. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you directly.
