Terms of Service
Last updated 2026-08-19
These terms govern your use of syniq.co and the Syniq chat assistant ("the Service"). By creating an account, you agree to them.
1. The Service
Syniq is an AI assistant for industrial automation and PLC programming questions. Syniq is currently in private beta and provided as-is; features, limits, and pricing may change.
2. Accounts
- Signup currently requires a valid invite code. We may change or remove this requirement at any time.
- You're responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity on your account.
- Plans have a daily message limit as described on our pricing page; limits reset at midnight UTC.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to generate control code you intend to deploy without qualified human review.
- Attempt to bypass rate limits, invite-code gating, or authentication.
- Upload content you don't have the right to share, or that contains anyone else's personal data without a lawful basis.
- Use the Service to build a competing product by systematically extracting our knowledge base.
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' data.
4. Generated code and safety-critical systems
This is the most important section if you work with motors, motion, or safety systems. Syniq is a reference and drafting aid, not a certified engineering tool. Every code example the Service produces — ladder logic, structured text, or otherwise — is educational reference material and carries an explicit warning that it must be reviewed and validated by a qualified control systems engineer before use in any real system. You are solely responsible for verifying that any code, wiring guidance, or configuration you deploy meets the applicable safety standards (e.g. IEC 62061, ISO 13849, IEC 61511) for your specific application. Syniq is not liable for damage, injury, downtime, or loss arising from code or guidance obtained from the Service.
5. Equipment data
If you connect a site agent, you're responsible for the security of the network and device it runs on. You control what the agent can read from your PLC via its configuration, and you can revoke its access at any time from your dashboard.
6. Billing
Paid plans are billed in advance through Stripe. You can cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the current billing period. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law.
7. Intellectual property
You retain ownership of content you upload. You grant us a limited license to process it solely to provide the Service to you. Syniq retains ownership of the Service itself, including its knowledge base and underlying software.
8. Termination
You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, abuse the Service, or pose a security risk to other users.
9. Disclaimer & limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Syniq is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including damages arising from generated code or equipment data.
10. Changes to these terms
We'll update the date at the top of this page when these terms change, and notify you of material changes.
